Divorce and Marriage dissolution

In the early 1530s, King Henry VIII sought an dissolution of his marriage to Catherine of Aragon on the grounds that it wasn’t valid in the eyes of the Catholic Church, substantially because she had been preliminarily married to Henry’s aged family, Arthur, who had failed.
