Tiger Roll leaves a mark on the world with second Grand National win Tiger Roll prepared by Gordon Elliott and ridden by Davy Russell has won the Randox Health Grand National at Aintree.
Elliott’s small legend took over heading off to the last and effectively kept the rest under control with Jessica Harrington’s female horse Magic Of Light his closest follower at chances of 66-1
Russell did not need to quit fooling around on the long run-in as the 4-1 most loved returned home in front for the second year running the first to do as such since the second of Red Rum’s three triumphs in 1974.
Behind him and Magic Of Light Rathvinden was third and Walk In The Mill fourth.
The 39-year-old Russell siphoned his arms in enjoyment and got an immense embrace from mentor Gordon Elliott.
“To win two progressive Grand Nationals at my age you could barely trust it said Russell.
As Russell, who at one point in his profession was terminated by proprietor Michael O’Leary waved his arms in festivity Elliott regularly ambiguous was wailing.
