The King is a 2019 historical drama film directed by David Michôd and written by Michôd and Joel Edgerton. The movie is loosely based on William Shakespeare’s plays “Henry IV Part 1”, “Henry IV Part 2” and “Henry V” and follows the journey of young King Henry V of England.

The king story begins with the death of King Henry IV and the ascension of his son, Hal (Timothée Chalamet), to the throne.
