MELBOURNE Indian tennis star Sania Mirza alongside compatriot Rohan Bopanna reached the ongoing Australian Open 2023 final in Mixed Doubles on Wednesday.
The each- Indian brace of Sania and Bopanna excelled the third- seeded American- British brace of Desirae Krawczyk and Neal Skanska in the semi-final to make it to the final of the grand slam event.
The Indian brace had to fight hard to down the reigning Wimbledon titleholders 7- 6( 5), 6- 7( 5), 10- 6 in an immersing semi-final that lasted one hour and 52 twinkles.
Krawczyk- Skanska forced the tiebreaker by winning the alternate frame to determine the outgrowth of the instigative semifinal. still, Sania- Bopanna kept their countenance to prevail 10- 6.
specially, Sania- Bopanna was given a walkover by the Latvian- Spanish brace of Jelena Ostapenko and David Vega Hernandez in the quarter-final on Tuesday.
